When it comes to webOS, there’s many who believe that the mobile Operating System developed by Palm is far from over and done with. Despite being available on only two devices, people expect good things to come out of HP’s acquisition of the company. The Retina Display, which is one of the main features of the iPhone 4, stirred quite a bit of discussion after the official announcement. Even scientists got into the fray, putting in their own two cents whenever they were asked. (And yes, we asked.) Staples to Start Selling Amazon Kindles This Fall
Although Target had a good run to be the only brick-and-mortar retail location to sell Amazon’s top-selling Kindle device, it looks like they don’t have much longer to shine in the limelight. According to a new announcement from Staples, the nation wide retailer is about ready to start selling the eReader device. And, not just the Kindle, either, but all three of the available models.
Starting this Fall, Staples will officially be carrying all three models of the Kindle line-up. LG Optimus Pad Unveiled, Super Thin and Running Android
LG, at this year’s Dealer Days, has officially pulled the curtain off their tablet device. In the same vein as their Optimus line-up of Android-powered smartphones, they’ve just confirmed to the world that there is, indeed, an Optimus Pad. The tablet device is primed to take on the likes of Apple’s iPad, and Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Tab, even if the specifications are few and far between.

Treasure’s multi-scrolling, fruit-collecting shooter series Bangai-O is heading to XBLA this fall, published by D3 Publisher and priced at 800 Microsoft Points. Bangai-O HD: Missile Fury features over 100 levels of omnidirectional blasting. Like its DS predecessor Bangai-O Spirits, it also features a level editor, though presumably the XBLA version won’t require levels to be traded as sound files.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Ultimate Edition officially announced — and released
EA officially announced this morning that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Ultimate Edition will be available at retail for $60 on Xbox 360 and PS3 … um, today. Leaked by retail sites earlier this month, the package includes the main game, Onslaught mode, Battlefield 1943 and items originally included in the limited edition.
The “ultimate edition” moniker gives this package a feeling of finality we aren’t exactly comfortable with. Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam, the multiplayer expansion for the game, is still allegedly scheduled for Winter 2010. So, if that ever gets bundled in, what? Namco’s ‘Metro Cross’ and ‘Aero-Cross’ rated
In Australia, the OFLC has rated a game called “Aero-Cross HighAir” developed and published by Namco Bandai. At the same time, GamerBytes reports that the German USK rated an Xbox 360 game called “Metro Cross HighAir GP,” though that rating has since disappeared. The similar names suggest these two ratings are for the same game.
The “Metro Cross” name in the German rating seems to indicate an updated (perhaps Pac-Man CE-like?) version of Namco’s 1985 arcade game Metro-Cross, a side-scrolling foot race game in which players have to avoid giant rolling soda cans. However, it’s hard to reconcile that concept with the name “Aero-Cross,” so it should be interesting to see what Namco Bandai rolls out.
Two new DLC packs crash into Split/Second
Two DLC packs are set to liven up Split/Second this week (as if it needed any livening up). The Elite Vehicle Livery Pack adds new liveries for the Brawn, Vixen and Raptor cars and, as a nice bonus, it’s free. Meanwhile, the High Octane Supercar Pack adds three new supercars and a new livery for the Ryback Cyclone. The High Octane Supercar DLC isn’t free, but it’s pretty close, clocking in at 160 MSP or $2 on Xbox Live and PSN, respectively.

New Xbox 360 controller with twist-up D-pad coming Nov. 9, bundled with charge kit for $65
It’s the Xbox controller with a twist! As indicated by our source, Microsoft has announced a redesigned Xbox 360 wireless controller. The new gamepad will debut in a matte silver color with gray-toned face buttons and analog sticks with a more dramatic concave shape. Key to the new design is a “transforming” D-pad that changes from a semi-flush disc to a pop-out plus sign by twisting the D-pad clockwise. Sonic Adventure arrives on XBLA September 15 for $10
The first (but certainly not last) Dreamcast title to arrive on Xbox Live Arcade is, appropriately enough, the fastest. Major Nelson’s latest schedule for the platform has revealed a September 15 release date for Sonic Adventure, which will be available for 800 Microsoft Points ($10). No word yet on the release plans for Sega’s other previously announced Dreamcast revival, Crazy Taxi.
We’ve contacted Sega to find out if the game will arrive on PSN on a similar timetable. Los encurtidos se hacen para lograr que algún alimento dure más tiempo del que normalmente lo hace. Suelen prepararse con medios ácidos como limón y vinagre y también mucha sal. Esto hace que el alimento se vuelva mucho más ácido. Sin embargo, esto no quiere decir que sea desagradable.
Las zanahorias son buenas para este tipo de recetas. Hoy, para darles un toque diferente, haremos zanahorias encurtidas picantes. Agregaremos otros elementos para evitar que queden tan ácidas, algo que no a todos les gusta.

La mayonesa se puede usar como base de cualquier salsa que se te pueda ocurrir. Podemos hacer la mayonesa casera o comprarla. Sea como sea, se puede aromatizar con lo que queramos: ajo, perejil, queso, chorizo, o en este caso, una especie muy fuerte, picante y sabrosa: el curry. Por eso les he traído esta receta sencilla para preparar mayonesa de curry. Quedará muy bien para acompañar pan tostado, pan de pita, o algunos vegetales.

When it comes to webOS, there’s many who believe that the mobile Operating System developed by Palm is far from over and done with. Despite being available on only two devices, people expect good things to come out of HP’s acquisition of the company. The Retina Display, which is one of the main features of the iPhone 4, stirred quite a bit of discussion after the official announcement. Although Target had a good run to be the only brick-and-mortar retail location to sell Amazon’s top-selling Kindle device, it looks like they don’t have much longer to shine in the limelight. According to a new announcement from Staples, the nation wide retailer is about ready to start selling the eReader device. And, not just the Kindle, either, but all three of the available models.
Starting this Fall, Staples will officially be carrying all three models of the Kindle line-up. LG Optimus Pad Unveiled, Super Thin and Running Android
LG, at this year’s Dealer Days, has officially pulled the curtain off their tablet device. In the same vein as their Optimus line-up of Android-powered smartphones, they’ve just confirmed to the world that there is, indeed, an Optimus Pad. The tablet device is primed to take on the likes of Apple’s iPad, and Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Tab, even if the specifications are few and far between.

AOL Scoops Up Rally Up To Boost Their Mobile Team
AOL has just acquired Rally Up, the Santa Cruz-based mobile application company, we’ve learned. The 9-person team will become a part of AOL’s mobile group reporting to David Temkin, the head of mobile. No word on the price, but we hear it was less than $10 million.
The company made both a mobile location app (also called Rally Up) and a very nice app meant to be used with FaceTime called FacePlant. Sadly, Apple never approved that app.

VMware Goes Shopping; Buys Cloud App Authentication System TriCipher
At VMworld today, VMware has announced that it has acquired two enterprise companies today–IT performance analytics company Integrien and TriCipher, an authentication system for cloud hosted SaaS applications. Both acquisitions are expected to close in the third quarter of 2010. Financial details of the transactions were not disclosed.
TriCipher’s myOneLogin is an on-demand identity and access management service that allows users one single sign-on to more than 4,000 apps, including Salesforce, WebEx and Google Apps. The company has raised $33 million to date. TriCipher’s technology will be added to “multiple VMware initiatives, including identity-based security, integration of hybrid clouds and managed access to SaaS application from any device, where and when a user needs it.”

Meet Digg’s New CEO
Digg has hired Amazon exec Matt Williams to be their new CEO, we’ve confirmed. This ends a months-long process that began with the ouster of former CEO Jay Adelson in April. Founder Kevin Rose has run the company since then.
Williams has been with Amazon for more than a decade – since 1999. He is currently the GM of Consumer Payments. But he has held a variety of jobs – GM Webstore, Director Tech Alliances, Director Community & Cross-Merchandising and Director, Auctions and Marketplace.
Rose will become chief architect going forward, we’ve heard, a position he’s held in the past.
Neighbortree Raises $120k For Hyperlocal Community Websites Network
Kansas City-based startup Neighbortree checked in to tell us about their efforts to grow a fledgling network of hyper-local neighborhood community websites operated by residents. The company has just raised $120,000 from an undisclosed regional angel investment firm, notably a mere month after launching its service.
Neighbortree provides free, interactive neighborhood websites to any type of residential community, including traditional neighborhoods, subdivisions, condominiums and apartment buildings. Think of it as a sort of Ning for neighborhoods.
Since this requires a hyper-local approach (we’re talking physical, not virtual communities), its business depends on developing partnerships with other companies that can execute its network model at the metro or state level. Subway To Get Its Own "Ring Of Steel"
Now that we know the NYPD actually uses subway surveillance footage when it’s available, transit officials say they plan on ordering 340 subway cars equipped for surveillance cameras. Though the move will cost around $750 million, officials told the Post it’s cheaper than installing camera systems in the current cars. So this is what those $130 MetroCards would pay for.
The cars will replace the aging trains on the A line by 2015. However, the camera feeds would not be monitored in real time. It was strange, it was messy, and it was the first battle of the American Revolution following the Declaration of Independence. Most people also call it the Battle of Long Island. To a group of re-enactors and enthusiasts, as well as other proud Brooklynites, however, it’s called the Battle of Brooklyn, thank you very much, and on Sunday, the yearly re-enactors’ event that celebrates its place in history came around once again in Green-Wood Cemetery. It was a beautiful (if hot) day, and, if nothing else, this is way more interesting than the ol’ back-and-forth between Hasids and hipsters. Check out those uniforms!

Caroline Giuliani, the 21-year-old daughter of former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, appeared in Criminal Court this morning to face shoplifting charges, but it was a quick visit, because she made a deal with the Manhattan DA’s office. While New York City may have some of the best tap water ever, it may not be kosher. When the water was tested in 2004, it set off an alarm in the Orthodox community because results showed tiny crustaceans known as copepods in it. This year, over 112 public schools placed students on wait lists for their kindergarten programs, and last year the Daily News reported that getting into many Brooklyn pre-K programs were “tougher to get into than Harvard.” Now, the News says getting into Brooklyn pre-K is even tougher than that.
The News reports that the economy has discouraged parents from putting their children in expensive private pre-Ks, but more and more parents are either moving to Brooklyn or staying there to raise their kids. Prospect Park Not Fining Unlawful Fishermen?
When it comes to fines, the Prospect Park Enforcement Patrol officers are slack on summonsing litterbugs, but have no problem ticketing an unleashed pup. And now according to the Brooklyn Paper, they turn a blind eye to law-breaking fishermen as well.
The city has a “catch and release” law when it comes to fishing in the parks, but one local whistleblower—Shelley Hendlin—says they aren’t enforcing it in the Brooklyn park. Four Cars Set On Fire, Others Keyed In Queens
Earlier this morning, some car owners in Queens awoke to find their vehicles up in flames. WCBS 2 reports, “Some were in the street, some were in driveways and at least one of the fires spread to an owner’s home.” Plus, a dozen cars were keyed. One owner of a newly crisped auto said, “At first i didn’t know why my truck went on fire, then I found out that three other cars, three other vehicles on the block were also set on fire.” Another resident said, “We don’t know why, unless they were kids that were drinking, we have no idea what could’ve happened. Zsa Zsa Rushed Back To UCLA Medical Center!
Oh no!
Prince Frederic von Anhalt has reported to sources that Zsa Zsa Gabor was rushed to a hospital after she became unresponsive this morning. The person who called 911 told officials she was experiencing flu-like symptoms and body pain.
Thankfully, sources say that a private ambulance came to retrieve Zsa Zsa and they never put their emergency lights on. That means her life was in no immediate danger.
Bless her heart! We hope she’s doing alright!

The legendary room got new wallpaper, a new rug, new sofas, lamps and a coffee table.

Celeb Testimonies Revealed From Bling Ring Case
This is actually quite heartbreaking. It just goes to show that no amount of money or fame can replace a sense of security when one’s safety has been compromised.
Late last June, a grand jury filed into a Los Angeles courtroom to hear testimonies about the infamous “Bling Ring” burglaries that terrorized several recognizable young Hollywood stars, from the stars themselves.
The hearing apparently went on without anyone knowing the wiser, but today, documents from the hearing have been unsealed and they offer more details on how these crimes took their toll on the celebs.
